2011 Celebration Details:

Date: Friday, September 9, 2011

Time: 5:30 - 10:00 p.m.

Location: The Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 West Bluemound Rd. Milwaukee, WI 53226

Tickets are $25/adults and $15 for youth age 10 and younger. PLEASE NOTE: At this time, tickets are no longer available online. You are very welcome to purchase at the door between 5:30 and 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

When you get to the Zoo, tell the parking attendant that you are there for Life Lights. Enter through the Gathering Place, where you will have a chance to enter the door prize raffle.

The Life Lights Celebration of Life is an annual event hosted by Horizon Home Care & Hospice. It is a fundraiser to support Hospice and a wonderful evening for individuals and families to remember their loved ones.

Each ticket includes parking and admission to the Zoo as well as a fish fry dinner (kids will recieve chicken fingers and a vegetarian option is available). Dinner is served in the Flamingo Cafe from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Live entertainment will be provided by local musician Kyle Feerick throughout the evening on the Flamingo Terrace. A cash bar will also be available (drinks are not included in the admission price).

After dinner and announcements, guests will be invited to enjoy a sunset stroll (1 mile) through the Zoo, ending back at the Flamingo Terrace for the Celebration of Life.

The Celebration of Life:

The Celebration of Life is an interactive experience for the entire family. Guests may submit a photo of their loved one in advance, and that photo will be included in the evening's slide show. Guests are asked to light a candle in honor of their loved one, and the ceremony is set to music. This is a wonderful way to pay tribute to your loved one while supporting Hospice.

Photo submission deadline for the 2011 event is Friday, September 2, 2011.
