Dr.  David E.  Weissman is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Medical College of Wisconsin Palliative Care Center.  He is Board Certified in Medical Oncology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine.  Dr. Weissman served as Director of Physician Education for the Wisconsin Cancer Pain Initiative from 1986-2000.  In 1991 he began the 1^st comprehensive palliative care program in Wisconsin .  In 1995 Dr. Weissman was awarded a Faculty Scholar Award in Death Education from the Project on Death in .   From 1997-2004 Dr. Weissman directed the National Residency End of Life Education Project, helping 400 residency programs develop a palliative care curriculum.  In 2003, the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Palliative Care Program was designated as one of six United States Palliative Care Leadership Center ’s by the Center to Advance Palliative Care.  Dr. Weissman is co-director of EPERC, End-of-Life Palliative Education Resource Center and he was the Founding Editor of the Journal of Palliative Medicine.
